| Scotland is often undeservedly maligned
for its food. But with fantastic local raw materials available,
there’s every opportunity for us to be able to produce food
to rival the best in the world.
We have built up a reputation for excellent food here at the Old
North Inn. Our menu has no French, Italian, Asian or Indian influences
– it is unashamedly Scottish and seeks to provide very tasty
traditional dishes which will tempt your taste buds and satisfy
the heartiest appetites. (We don’t do nouvelle cuisine!!!!)
We use the best of local produce, highland meats and fish, the
best haggis and sausages from the famous Cockburn’s of Dingwall,
Mackie’s ice creams, vegetables sometimes so local they actually
grow in the field next to the Inn. Ales from the Isle of Skye, mineral
water from a natural spring above Loch Ness and of course a carefully
chosen selection of malt whiskies.
Virtually everything on our menu is home made, from our chicken
liver terrine and soups to our cloutie dumpling and whisky marmalade
pudding.
